Department store credit cards are easily just as popular as regular credit cards; maybe even more popular because many times they are easier to obtain. Some store specific cards are great, with low interest rates and already great prices at the store can save you lots of money, especially if they offer so many months interest free. There are also many store credit card with extremely high interest rates, these are best to avoid but if you have less than perfect credit you will most likely have to get a higher interest rate card anyways.
